The Future of HeroesNews

I just wanted to share a quick update on the future of the HeroesNews podcast since I haven't produced a show these past two weeks.

I'm putting the show on a brief hiatus to figure a few things out. The honest truth is that I need to assess if there's really even a show to be made anymore.

When I created this podcast, I built my content around three main objectives.
1. HGC news (standings, roster changes, etc)
2. Interviews that told the stories of members of the Heroes community - casters, players, streamers, podcasters - and how they got to where they are today.
3. Game news (patch notes, new heroes releases, dev announcements, etc.)

HGC and the interviews with the community were my passion. Reporting the news is fine, but it's not what drove me to make this show.

And now, HGC is gone. My list of people to interview is shrinking rapidly and interviews are very difficult to schedule now. I don't blame them at all. Many have exited the community and stopped playing Heroes entirely. Their stories have gone from hopeful, determined optimism to sad, defeated uncertainty. I don't want to ask them to tell those stories, and they'd be hard to listen to, also. That's not the content I want to make for you.

I'm in a really difficult spot where I can't see the future path for Heroes or come anywhere close to trying to anticipate it. I could at least predict a weekly to bi-weekly news cycle before, but that's no longer guaranteed. This is why I've decided to take some time to see if the show is still viable anymore before making a decision about its future.

I'll continue to update you all as I figure things out. Thank you so much for all your support, and for taking the time to tell me you listen and love the show. I love it, too. The last 2 months have been really difficult for me as a creator, so for everyone who reached out with words of kindness and support: I appreciate you more than you'll ever know.
